Digital Science, a technology company serving stakeholders across the research ecosystem, is pleased to announce that York University has successfully launched its new profile tool, ‘Discover York Academics’, that makes it easy for faculty and researchers to showcase their expertise and connect with collaborators worldwide.
The portal is built upon Symplectic Elements, which York University has been using as a research information management system since 2021, selected following a competitive RFP process. By utilising the data collated in Symplectic Elements, enables faculty and researchers to create and publish comprehensive academic profiles using existing research data. The tool is now live at https://discover.academics.yorku.ca/ .
External users such as researchers from other institutions, media, students and potential industry partners are able to search and filter academic profiles, including by department, research expertise, availability for collaboration (e.g. Masters Research, PhD student supervision), by United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and by Canadian Research and Development Classification (CRDC).

teams, we’ve built a robust discovery tool that strengthens our research and
scholarly ecosystem, advancing knowledge and driving impact. We’re excited
to see how Discover York Academics will help connect our talent with global
opportunities.”
