Research Funding Solution

Manage funding workflows seamlessly

The Research Funding Solution is set to release in 2021

For over 15 years, Symplectic Elements has empowered organisations to collect, analyse, showcase & report on all of their scholarly activities. In 2021, we’re expanding that scope by introducing a new suite of functionality to support research funding workflows, by bringing together research information management and research funding activities in one cloud-hosted system.

From proposal development to post-award activities the Research Funding Solution will offer functionality across the funding lifecycle, including:

Research Funding Solution 6

Funding opportunities: Communicate upcoming funding opportunities to relevant researchers within their community by listing them in the system.

Proposal development: A range of configurable funding workflows which support collaborative proposal writing, review processes and procedural checks.

Research Funding Solution 7

Application Preparation: A selection of customisable templates to help prepare applications for submission – from simple workflows for recording compliance checks to more complex workflows with formal review and approval processes.

Submissions and Outcomes: Empower researchers and/or administrators to record submission information against the associated application either manually or via a bulk upload.

Research Funding Solution 8

Post-Award Management: Support researchers and administrators with managing milestones and reporting. Manage the transformation from application to project and offer functionality to allow maintenance of records and documents (eg. contracts and variations) about the project in one place.

Centralised, customisable reporting of institutional research activity and pipeline management.

Developed in partnership with our client community, the
Research Funding Solution supports administrators and researchers alike.

The Elements Research Funding Solution seeks to offer flexible tools for fostering cross-institutional collaboration and
allowing administrators to
more effectively support researchers throughout the application process.

Elements elegantly connected our multi-university system providing a
single source of truth throughout OIEx.

Tim Cain, The Ohio Innovation Exchange (OIEx)

The University measures the individual research activity of academic staff. This Measure of Research Activity (MoRA) requires the collection of publication data from faculty. Symplectic Elements supports this beautifully.

Floris van der Leest, Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia

[Elements] will help to bring transparency to the richness of thought showcased within non-traditional publications, providing a more holistic representation of faculties’ scholarly work.

Caleb Smith, University of Michigan

Feedback to date has been extremely positive from all levels across the University, with individual academics and colleagues actively promoting the ease of use of the system.
